Summerhill Pyramid Winery is an 80-acre organic oasis overlooking the shores of Lake Okanagan. Nature’s gorgeous mountains and the glistening lake make Summerhill a beacon of Light in the pristine Okanagan Valley of beautiful British Columbia. Established for more than 35 years, this unique destination tourist attraction offers many magnificent site choices to ensure every event is unforgettable.

Venues

Ceremony

  • Exclusive rental of the chosen venue
  • White folding chairs (set to how you want it)
  • Ceremony wedding arbor (permanent wooden structure on our main vineyard lawn). You can decorate it as you wish.
  • Three (3) wine barrels for florals and signage
  • Ceremony signing table and chair (most often it’s a barrel)
  • Water station
  • 1-hour rehearsal time (must be scheduled in advance)
  • Summerhill greeter to welcome and direct guests and ensure the space is exclusive to your guests
  • Sabering of Cipes Brut after the ceremony; wine can be poured for guests to toast in celebration (Optional. Toast for the guest is at an additional cost per bottle of Brut.)

Reception

  • 5-foot round dining tables (up to 8 people per table)
  • White linens (tablecloth and napkins)
  • White chiavari chairs
  • White flatware, silver cutlery and glassware for dinner & bar service
  • Rectangular tables for head table, gift table, cake table, guest signing table, etc.
  • All setup of all of the above according to desired configuration as well as tear down
  • Barrel with podium top and two speakers with one hand-held microphone
  • Dimmable overhead lighting
  • All serving staff and bartenders (Last call is 11:15 pm)
  • Your meal. Food pricing will vary according to your menu selection
  • Your bar. All wine and alcohol costs are based on consumption. You can choose which wines you would like to offer your guests, and you will only be charged for the bottles opened.
  • Centerpieces, flowers and tabletop décor (candles, table numbers, charger plates, etc.)
  • Additional linens (runners, overlays or colored linen)
  • Draping or backdrops
  • Additional lighting (Chandeliers, Edison bulbs, Up lighting, etc.)
  • Audio/Visual equipment for slideshows
  • Music & entertainment: DJ or live band

Costing and Estimates

We require a “good” estimate of your guest count and food choices 30 days prior to your wedding. Final, guaranteed numbers are required 14 business days prior to your wedding. This is the minimum number you will be charged for, regardless of any last-minute cancellations within that 14-day period.

For your budgeting purposes, please anticipate the following when doing your calculations (please note these amounts are based on historical information and industry guidelines):

  • Estimate a minimum of 5-6 pieces of hors d’oeuvres per person, based on a one-hour reception prior to the main meal
  • Estimate 2 drinks per person for a one-hour reception and 1 drink per person every half hour after the while the bar remains opens
  • Anticipate 20-30 minutes for each course to be served, for an enjoyable dinner service (this suggested timing will depend on the number of guests being served and the length of speeches if in between dinner service)

Service Charges & Taxes

All Food & Beverage costs, as well as venue rental fees are subject to the following applicable provincial taxes:

  • All food and beverage are subject to an automatic 20% gratuity and 5% GST
  • All alcoholic beverages are subject to a 10% liquor tax
  • All additional rentals and associated fees are subject to 5% GST and 7% PST
  • All additional labour services are subject to 5% GST and 20% gratuity

Summerhill’s menus feature’s only the best regional ingredients sourced from our own Biodynamic gardens and wildlife preserves and brought in from our network of local organic farmers. Our menu promises to be an outstanding way to experience the unique culinary culture of the Okanagan Valley that your guests will rave about for years to come.

Organic wine is winning taste tests around the world… organic food will win your taste test! Working with our event specialist and Executive Chef we will design a menu that reflects your tastes and theme, and makes the most of our finest local ingredients. From plant-based/gluten-free menu items to farm fresh meats, the Summerhill culinary team will ensure all of your guests are cared for, including those with sensitive dietary restrictions.

Special Meal Requests & Allergies

Summerhill is honoured to accommodate requests for special meals such as gluten free, vegan and vegetarian, provided those requests are made a minimum of 14 business days prior to the wedding date. Allergies will gladly be accommodated, given adequate notice. Kosher meals are possible and may be discussed in advance with our Events Specialist.

Summer Pyramid Winery must, by law, be the sole provider of all food and beverage, with the exception of specialty wedding cakes and cupcakes that have been prepared by a baker with Food Safe Certification. No outside catering is permitted.

All wine served at the event, must be purchased from Summerhill Pyramid Winery. A limited offering organic beer, cider, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for your bar. Quotes will be provided to any special order requests for beer and liquor.

Please note: Only host bar weddings have the option to bring in special orders and all special-order product brought in must be paid in full prior to the wedding date.

You are requested to provide Summerhill Pyramid Winery with a copy of your comprehensive seating plan showing the location of those guests requesting special meals a minimum of 5 days prior to the reception dinner.
